Administrators can now configure email alerts to managers whenever their employees violate the DLP policy
Data Loss Prevention (DLP) is there to ensure no sensitive data is shared with unauthorized recipients. In addition, it is used for management and security departments to monitor and ensure employees handle sensitive data in compliance with the company policy and regulations.
Managers can now stay informed in real-time whenever their employees violate the DLP policy of the organization.
Administrators can now configure email notifications to be sent to the direct manager of an employee, whenever this employee sends (or attempts to send) classified data that matches a DLP policy rule.
This email notification can be configured regardless of whether the email is blocked or not, and even for Monitor only policy rules.
To do that, open the DLP policy rule, scroll down to the Alerts section and check the Alert the user manager.
This feature is currently supported for Microsoft 365 Mail.
Note – this feature is being deployed gradually. You should see it in your portal in the next 7 days.
